FOR SALE - mid century modern

A mid-century modern remodel; this house was originally built in 1964. Herndon Design did a complete remodel on this project. The entire interior of the house was taken back to the stud walls. Foam insulation was added, new wiring and plumbing. A radiant floor heat system was added to the slab-on-grade concrete floor and finished out with 24" x 24" porcelain tiles on the main level. Originally there was a huge stone fireplace which dominated the main living space and cut off natural light to the kitchen. During the remodel the fireplace was removed which made the space much more open and filled with light. Windows were added in many areas of the home while keeping much of the original glass. The front porch was the only structure added beyond the original footprint of this house; disturbing little of the mature landscaping. The crisp Italian kitchen transposes this 1964 model to the current, yet works within the modern aesthetic. The large 5' x 10' glass panel at the counter top seamlessly connects the covered patio via the 8' slider doors with free standing Malm Conical Fireplace also beyond on the porch.
